Shoe condition and inspection guide
Preloved shoes have individual histories. Read the condition of the pair you are choosing, including its notes and photographs, alongside any numerical grade.
What we check
- Labels: the information shown on the shoe’s labels.
- Stitching: visible stitching and its condition.
- Soles: the soles and visible wear.
- Defects: visible issues that affect the pair’s condition.
- Cleanliness: the pair’s cleanliness and any stains.
If a pair has stains, we inform the customer before payment. These are our checks; they are not a claim of third-party authentication or a laboratory assessment.
How to read grades
You may see grades such as 9/10, 9.5/10 or 10/10. A higher grade describes better recorded condition, but the number does not replace a description of specific wear. Read the note attached to your selected size; different pairs in one listing can have different grades.
Only treat a pair as new or unused when that is explicitly confirmed for that pair. A high score alone does not establish that a shoe is unused, nor does it tell you its material, age or fit.
Photographs and pair-specific questions
Look closely at the uppers, heels, sole tread, labels and any photographed defects. If a listing groups several sizes, ask for clarification about the photos of the pair you intend to buy. Request a close-up when a detail is not clear.
Useful questions include: “Does this size have stains?”, “Can I see the heel lining and soles?”, and “Is the condition note specific to this pair?”
Before paying
Confirm the chosen size, condition, price and any disclosed stains. Use our size and fit guide and read the returns policy. If an item arrives incorrectly described or damaged, contact us within seven days after delivery so we can apply the policy.
